March Newsletter
Dear Faith Family,
As you are probably aware by now, I will be stepping down as Pastor of FAITH Baptist Church to pursue a new ministry God has called me to with the Lexington Baptist Association. I decided to share some of the letter I provided for the church in this article stating my intent to step down and sharing some of my personal thoughts about this decision and the family of FAITH.
"I am so very thankful for God’s sovereignty in allowing me to serve as your pastor and for His hand guiding us to serve together in ministry to this community and one another. You have loved our family well and graciously supported us and I pray that we have responded well in our love towards you. This road of revitalization is one that is ongoing and by God’s grace it will continue to allow our Faith family to serve with grace for God’s glory. While I am truly excited about this new opportunity that God has placed before me, I am also deeply saddened that I will no longer serve you as your pastor. I will conclude my responsibilities as Pastor of Faith Baptist Church on March 31st and begin my ministry as Mission Strategist with LBA on April 1st.
I want you to know that if I were not certain that God was orchestrating this move, I would not have the emotional or spiritual strength to follow through with this decision. I consider you dear family and I love you very much. I cannot over-state the blessing that it has been to serve as your pastor. I will treasure all that we have shared together and all that I have learned. Transitions can be challenging, but I believe that God has a great plan for FAITH and that He will continue to guide and lead our Faith family in this next season just as I believe that He is guiding me to take this next step of obedience in following Christ.
As I step into this role as a part of the Lexington Baptist Association, I encourage you to consider me as your missionary to the churches of the Lexington Baptist Association and their communities. Leisa and I plan to remain a part of this beautiful Faith family and I am confident that we will all continue to learn how to thrive and bring glory to God under the leadership of our next pastor. I am excited that I will still be able to serve you in many ways as a part of your local association staff and I trust that I will have opportunities to do that in the days ahead. I am grateful for the love and support shown to me and our family by each and every one of you and I am thankful for the privilege of having served as your pastor.
Please remember that this community still needs Jesus, and we have been chosen by God for such a time as this to share His love and truth with those without hope. I pray this will always be the highest priority for Faith Baptist Church because I know that this is the highest priority of our Heavenly Father.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your pastor and for the blessing of calling you my Faith family!"
