To the Church Family at Faith Baptist Church
With June comes summer and some exciting things at Faith Baptist Church. Number 1 on the list is Vacation Bible School. Our VBS is June 11 through 15 at 6:00 to 8:30 each evening.
The theme is “Twists and Turns” and the main idea is: Following Jesus changes the game. We have classes for kindergarten through fifth grade and a class for adults. Let me issue you an invitation to attend and to bring others. This is an opportunity to follow the command to “go into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in” (Luke 14:23).
On June 4th I will begin a new sermon series on the Beatitudes. In the Beatitudes, found in Matthew 5:3-10, Jesus instructs us how to have a “blessed” life. Join us for these life-enriching messages.
June also brings Father’s Day. We will recognize the fathers in our church on Sunday, June 18. This can also be a reminder that for followers of the Lord Jesus, God is our heavenly Father. As our Father, he provides for us our daily bread and all our other needs as well; not just our material ones but our spiritual, emotional, and relational ones. In contrast to some earthly fathers, he is a consistent Father. In Malachi 3:6 in the Bible God is speaking and says, “I the Lord do not change.” We can count on that. He wants us to grow in the faith and sometimes that means he must discipline us. Hebrews 12:10b says, “God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.” He is a good Father that we can depend on to watch over us now and for
