To the Church Family at Faith Baptist Church;
            Happy New Year!  I hope that 2024 will prove to be the year of spiritual growth for you.
            As I think back of the time, I have been with Faith Baptist Church in 2023, I am grateful for the things the church has accomplished.  Think about what you accomplished last year: you have said good-bye to one pastor and welcomed me as your interim pastor ; conducted a well-run and well-attended Vacation Bible School; helped provide school supplies for area children and encouraged school teachers; conducted a fun-filled Harvest Festival and gave out Bibles and gospel tracts; helped with GPS and the after school program, contributed to the Annie Armstrong, Janie Chapman, and Lottie Moon offerings for missions; provided many shoe boxes for the Samaritans Purse emphasis; supported a mission trip to New York City; and had a Children’s Christmas Program and a Lord’s Supper/Candlelight service.  All the while you maintained Sunday School, worship services, prayer meetings, and a youth program that included taking several youth to SummerSalt.
            What will we be doing as a church in 2024? I am sure we will repeat much of what was accomplished last year. Here are some things I would like to see happen in 2024: we will deepen our prayer lives; improve our outreach into the community; grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus; wait expectantly and prayerfully as we seek a new permanent pastor; and learn to depend more on God in every part of our lives.
            Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”  With a promise like that, we can face the new year with confidence, both as individual believers and as a church.
Your pastor, Ken Harmon
