March Newsletter
To the Church Family at Faith Baptist Church;
Easter is early this year, coming right at the end of March. Before Easter arrives,
we are going to be busy at Faith Baptist. Of course, you remember the time change on March 10 when we “spring forward.” Don’t be late that Sunday.
More importantly, during March we will be praying for our North American missionaries and collecting the Annie Armstrong Easter offering to support them and their work. The theme this year is “Make Jesus Known.” That is something we can all strongly support. There is no denying that our nation has lost it way spiritually. I am grateful for our missionaries and for the creative ways they are making Jesus known. In our worship services we plan to show video clips of what some of them are doing. I am also grateful that I have a way to support them in their work by giving through the Annie Armstrong offering. Our church goal is $2,000.00. Let’s surpass that through sacrificial offerings, not only to support our missionaries but to Make Jesus Known.
Palm Sunday is on the twenty-fourth. Does it ever surprise you that there was a crowd to welcome Jesus into Jerusalem, yet just a few days later a crowd was shouting
for him to be crucified?
We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper that Sunday to commemorate Jesus’ death. The sermon is to be from Psalm 51, where David confesses his sin and asks for forgiveness. Plan to come with a repentant attitude, for we all need forgiveness. Thankfully, Jesus’ death on the cross, his giving his body and shedding his blood, makes forgiveness possible.
The next Sunday, March 31, is Easter Sunday! We will celebrate the risen Lord. Come that Sunday with gratitude for Jesus, his death and resurrection, and with joy. Because he lives, we can live also. Jesus was delivered up because of our sins and raised for our justification (Romans 4:25). Realize that Jesus knows you personally; he knows your name. What an incomparable Savior! Come and worship with us on that most special day.
